I have a WW2 rotary valve cornet. I have my grandfather's cornet that he played in the Italian royal band during the reign of Mussolini from 1922 to 1943. I was wondering if I should restore it (professionally). I'm definitely fixing the valves and maybe the dings. Should I varnish/polish?
