John (Otto) Heidel, a convicted forger and member of a burglary ring known as the Bypass Gang was marked for death by Anthony Casso after Mafia cops confirmed he was an informant secretly taping conversations. Otto was gunned down while changing a car tire on E. 35th St. in Brooklyn on Oct. 8, 1987.
