In TFA, Finn tells Rey to “fly low” on Jakku to evade the TIE/fo attack, as “it confuses their tracking”. Later, the Resistance manages to successfully ambush the First Order on Takodana by flying low over Nymeve Lake. I’ve always enjoyed this low-key continuity.
