The Coppergate Helmet, an 8th-century Anglo-Saxon helmet which was uncovered in May 1982 during excavations for the Jorvik Viking Centre in York, England. It remains the best preserved of the six surviving Anglo-Saxon helmet discoveries. [730x1219]
