Tufted Puffin uses its large bill to regulate body temp. In flight this bird expends much energy & produces excess heat. Puffin bills act like a radiator, help them cool down when they fly by dissipating x’ss heat. It allows them to travel farther in search of food w/o taking regular breaks to rest.
