Ussuri dholes are rare, carnivorous canids native to wilderness areas ranging from the Indian subcontinent to northeast Asia. Also called Indian dholes, these endangered mammals are known to feed on herbivores such chitals, sambars, nilgais and gaurs, and occasionally on onagers and kiangs.
